The GeneralX is an IP66 rated model, so this makes it one standard away from being completely waterproof. With it’s sleek but robust design the Mitex General Xtreme radio is perfect for harsher environments such as humid areas, outdoor tasks, boating, camping, hiking, orienteering, garages, restaurants, pubs and clubs, equestrian sports, and so forth. It comes with 16 channels, programmed to the same frequencies as the Mitex General model, so you can add this radio to your existing fleet without any interruption. Alternatively channels 13-15 are programmed to work with all Mitex UHF models (with the exception of the 446 range) so you can even keep in contact with your friends or contractors.

This is a simple, easy to use, “no frills” radio, giving you great communication, but still withstanding the abuse of a harsher environment. With no LCD display, no function buttons, and no added features therefore, this radio is ideal for users who just want to get on with their job and keep in contact. And it comes at a very economical price too!

This is a licensed radio at 5watt power, so this gives you much further range than a License Free radio and comes under our “Easy Licensing” option. The radios are pre-programmed to UK Business Light frequencies, making them ready to use straight from the box. All you have to do is fill in the license application that comes in the box. Simply apply for the Simple UK License and fill in the online form. The license will cost you an additional £75 but this covers you for 5 years, regardless of the number of radios you own.

Because the range of a radio varies depending on the environment you use it in, we offer you the realistic expected range of:

• Vehicles or buildings – 1/2 – 1 mile (up to 1.5km)
• Built up areas – 1 – 2 miles (up to 3km)
• Wide open spaces – 3-5 miles (up to 8km)

But you could achieve better than this in some instances. So we have explained it in further detail in our FAQ page.
